CREW

Jon Deutsch (Writer/ Director)

Seemingly dissatisfied with reality at an early age, Jon Deutsch has been telling stories and creating characters since childhood.

As soon as his hands were big enough to hold his parents Hi8 camera he started making movies and hasn’t looked back.  A graduate of Georgetown University and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, his recent work includes several reality TV show pilots ("Rattlesnake Republic", "Call of the Wildman"), a critically acclaimed webseries ("Citizen’s Arrest!"), the “making of” for "Effie"—a feature film starring Emma Thompson and Dakota Fanning, as well as several shorts, PSAs, and industrials.

He lives and works in Los Angeles where his adopted Dodgers continue to frustrate him.

Nadia Nikolic Bowen (Producer)

Nadia Nikolic Bowen hails from Sarasota, Florida—home of the best beach in the US.

After realizing she did not want to spend her life rummaging through archives as a Russian history professor, she chose to spend long nights splicing Super-8 film together by hand.  Those wintery nights inspired her to be a filmmaker, sending her on her way to an M.F.A. at the USC School of Cinematic Arts.

During her very first class at USC, she met Jon and the two became fast friends..  Four years later, when Jon asked her to produce his thesis, she said yes…without ever reading the script.  She was glad it was good when she read it.  Free Love is the first large scale project Nadia ever produced and  it has changed her career trajectory.

Nadia most recently worked as a co-director on the short documentary, "Videosyncracy" (on the Documentary channel), and as an Associate Producer on the hit History Channel TV series, "Ancient Aliens".

She also enjoys long walks on the beach and cocktails with little umbrellas in them.

Nicholas Musurca (Cinematographer)

Nicholas Musurca has worked on a variety of genre-bending shorts as an editor and cinematographer, including the groundbreaking LGBT short "The Maiden and the Princess" (DoP) and festival favorite "The Legend of Beaver Dam" (Editor), which played in competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival.

He also edited and produced the web series "Crazy, Sexy, Awkward" for FremantleMedia, which led to the show being purchased by Showcase and developed for television. At the moment he is editing "Stage Fright", a musical horror feature starring Meat Loaf and Minnie Driver.

Jack Murgatroyd (Editor)

Immersed in the world of filmmaking from a young age, Jack has always exhibited a strong affinity for editing. Born and raised in Malibu, his early influences were primarily surf and skate films.  He found himself constantly attempting to imitate their music driven, raw style.

Pursuing filmmaking throughout high school, he was awarded the Zaki Gordon Award for Excellence in Filmmaking as a Senior. Attending the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Jack continued to hone his skills in both film production, and his specialty: post-production.

Graduating in 2011, he founded a production company (Hunt House Pictures) with a fellow alumnus, and has steadily expanded the company’s work in commercial and music video production.

He is an avid surfer and photographer and currently resides in Venice, CA.

Daneille Keehn (Production Designer)

Hailing from Dallas, TX, Danielle graduated from USC, studying Film + Fine Art.

Though she currently lives and works in New York, her heart remains in Los Angeles.

An artist, yogi, chocoaholic, and belieber, she tries to see every movie as soon as it is released in theaters, including campy romantic comedies that bomb at the box office.   She firmly believes there is something to learn from every work of art.

Kelsey T. Morgan (Costume Designer)

Kelsey Taylor Morgan is a diehard ailurophile who spends her days escaping reality by playing dress up and going the movies.

Cara Chute (Casting Director)

Cara Chute rhymes with parachute.

By day she works with Branman/Brander Casting, and by night she is a music lover and a cheese enthusiast. Previous casting credits include "Leverage" (TNT), "Law & Order: Los Angeles" (NBC), "Hawthorne" (TNT), as well as dozens of comedy and drama pilots that never saw the light of day.

She loves her job, and is thrilled to have worked with the cast and crew of "Free Love." For more information you can look her up on IMDb, or follow her on twitter @likepara where you will find many pictures of her awesome dog, Rocket.

Marcel Arsenault (Music Supervisor)

Marcel Arsenault is a New York based songwriter and TV producer. He is currently the director of development for Sharp Entertainment ("Man v. Food", "Call of the Wildman", "Doomsday Preppers") and working on his first studio album.

He and director Jon Deutsch met at Georgetown University where they were freshman year roommates.  They soon began collaborating on videos, documentaries, films and TV shows.

He is excited to be a part of this film and is a huge fan of all the bands on the soundtrack. He strongly recommends checking out their websites, checking out their shows and buying their albums!
